Where Will SpaceX Be In 5 Years?

Analysts think SpaceX's valuation in the next 5 years will be way higher than its IPO valuation. After all, SpaceX is way ahead of others when it comes to getting payloads to safe cheapy and cheaply.

SpaceX also has a Starlink division which is already profitable. Starlink is already used around the world for internet and mobile connectivity. And then there is the xAI division, which is planning an ambitious data center buildout.

SpaceX's Capital Expenditures Will Reach $732 Billion

Some analysts think the initial valuation of SpaceX is a little too high. A more reasonable number should be around $780 billion. But that's for the short term, and things will be very different in the next 5 years.

Elon Musk knows the potential of AI and is going all in. Tesla, another company of Elon Musk, will also be putting a big amount into AI. In 2025, SpaceX's capital spending was $20.7 billion. That's 4 times as much as the capital spending two years ago.

According to Evercore ISI, SpaceX's capital spending will reach $360 billion in 2030. By 2031, it will reach $732 billion, and around $666 billion will be spent on AI.

So, if SpaceX is going to spend $732 billion in just capital expenditure, then what will be its total worth?

If we look at Alphabet, its capital expenditure will be $185 billion. The market cap of Alphabet is 24 times its capital expenditure. Based on the same formula, the market cap of SpaceX in 2031 will be $17 trillion.

One key risk for this forecast is that SpaceX may not have that much money to spend on capital expenditure. But we can expect a major spending spree after the IPO.

When we consider how ambitious Elon Musk can get, it is clear that SpaceX will be the next big thing in the US stock market. Of course, the ride to become a $17 trillion company will not be easy, but SpaceX has the potential to reach that.
