The chips made by Cerebras Systems are massive and of a specialized nature. This also means they can only serve a select number of clients.

It won't be wrong to say that Cerebras Systems is in the market for large commercial microchips. The FY2025 revenue of Cerebras Systems was $510 million. This is a major jump from the last fiscal year's revenue of $290.3 million.

The overall revenue growth this year was 46.6%. The net income during the same period was $237.8 million. The D/E ratio of Cerebras Systems was 0.5x in FY2025.

IonQ

IonQ uses ion-based technology to make quantum computers. These computers are made for general-purpose use. The idea is that quantum computers could be used to solve tough problems at a very fast speed.

IonQ already has commercial agreements with big names like Microsoft, Amazon, and others. The company is also working on expanding its direct sales.

The FY2025 revenue of IonQ was $130 million. The revenue during the last financial year was only $43.1 million. However, the company reported a net loss of $510.4 million during FY2025.

The reason why IonQ reported a net loss has to do with the high cost of research and development. The D/E ratio of IonQ in FY2025 was 0.01x.

IonQ Is The Better Buy

IonQ stock is the better option. It makes general-purpose quantum computers. Its customer base could easily include governments, corporations, and so on. The backlog of IonQ is already growing at a rate of 500% y/y.

Still, IonQ and Cerebras Systems are in their early stages. So, if you decide to buy IonQ stock, you should consider the fact that it is still highly speculative.

Also, the quantum computers made by IonQ have an accuracy of 99.99%. Meanwhile, the classic computers have an accuracy o 100%. So, we can't expect wide-scale commercial use of these quantum computers until the accuracy reaches 100%.
