Oil Price Forecast For 2027 - Wells Fargo

Wells Fargo has issued a forecast for Brent crude oil. According to them, the average oil price will be $79.30 in 2027. Overall, this is kind of a bearish forecast and highlights that Wells Fargo doesn't expect the prices to stay elevated.

This forecast is also different from those who are forecasting a price higher than $100. The target from Wells Fargo is also lower than the current price levels.

Average Oil Prices In 2027 Will Be $79

For Q4 2026, Wells Fargo projects oil prices to be near $92.00. However, oil prices will eventually decline to around $84 in Q1 2027.

In Q2 2027, oil prices will hover near the $79.00 level. In Q3 and Q4 of 2027, oil prices are expected to be near $77.7 and $76.3, respectively.

Meanwhile, Goldman Sachs also holds a similar view on oil prices. According to Goldman Sachs, the oil price target for 2027 is near $80. Of course, oil prices could stay high or above that level. But the average oil price in 2027 will be $80, according to Goldman Sachs.

It appears that the forecasts from investment banks are overall bearish. This is a striking contrast to current elevated oil prices.

Wells Fargo also added that global demand will remain weak. At teh same time, the supply pressures will ease, and this will lead to relief in oil prices.

Wells Fargo commented that inflation will stay high for some time. However, it will ease in 2027 and will be near 4%. Meanwhile, financial conditions will remain tight and weigh on demand. All of this will fade away the pressures on the supply side.

However, the bank cautioned that the overall inventory levels of oil and related products remain low. The refining capacity is also limited. So, energy prices will stay vulnerable to any external shocks.

So, persistent disruptions or an event that leads to a shortage of oil could invalidate the $80 price target set by Wells Fargo. Overall, the oil forecasts from multiple investment banks are bearish for 2027.
