 Is Dogecoin A Joke

Is Dogecoin A Joke Or A Serious Investment?

Dogecoin once started as a joke investment, but it has made many people rich. However, things are not going so well for Dogecoin, just like the rest of the cryptocurrency market.

The meme coin is down by more than 85% from its peak made in 2021. So, anyone can think that Dogecoin is dead and isn't going to make a turnaround. But, can Dogecoin still revive and reclaim its lost value?

Dogecoin Is 10th Largest Cryptocurrency

As of now, the market cap of Dogecoin is $14.3 billion. This makes it the 10 largest cryptocurrency in terms of market cap. On the other hand, Bitcoin is at the top with a market cap of $1.3 trillion.

Also, Dogecoin has been around for quite some time. It hit the markets in 2013 and has seen multiple market cycles since then. So, even if Dogecoin is a joke, it isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

But it is also a reality that Dogecoin lacks fundamental catalysts. The price movements in Dogecoin depend on hype. So, when the overall crypto market is bullish, Dogecoin also jumps on the bandwagon.

As of today, buying Dogecoin is similar to making a gamble. There's an equal chance for Dogecoin price to surge or sink to new lows. So, it is very easy to lose your money with Dogecoin.

Also, the supply of Dogecoin is not capped. So, the only thing that Dogecoin has going for itself is the hype. So, for anyone who likes to invest for the long term, Dogecoin is not the ideal choice.

A quick look at the US stock market reveals there are far better options out there. With the arrival of AI, there are so many stocks that have delivered unbelievable returns. Some of the examples include Nvidia and Micron!

And even if someone wants to invest only in the crypto market, there are better options like Bitcoin and Ethereum. They have a solid use-case and are not a joke like Dogecoin.
