AMD Stock Will Outperform Nvidia Over Next 3 Years

When we talk about AI and chip companies in particular, the first name that comes to mind is Nvidia. However, there are now other chip companies with better growth potential.

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) is a company just like that. AMD is considered a global leader in CPUs. Just like GPUs, data centers also need a lot of CPUs.

AMD Is A Leader In The CPU Market

If we look at the performance this year, it is clear that AMD stock is outperforming Nvidia. According to analysts, AMD stock has the potential to outperform Nvidia in the next 3 years too!

Around 3 years ago, AMD launched the Instinct MI300 data center GPU family. This allowed it to target the data center market. After that, the company also launched the Helios platform, which further improved the company's position.

The decision to target the data centers was a success. AMD's revenue from this has shown strong growth over the years. In 2023, the total revenue of AMD from the data centers sector was $6.5 billion.

Fast forward to today, AMD's revenue from data centers during Q2 was $6.7 billion. This clearly shows that AMD has enjoyed massive growth in the last few years.

However, it is also a reality that AMD is trading at a higher valuation compared to Nvidia. But this also means people are willing to pay a higher price for AMD stock.

Looking ahead, it is clear that AMD has plenty of room for growth. The sheer size of AMD is still nowhere close to Nvidia. This means AMD can continue to maintain higher growth for longer! Therefore, we can also expect more upside in the AMD stock over the next few years.

According to AMD's chief, the AI adoption cycle will consist of several years, and it is just getting started. So, it is clear that growth opportunities are massive and still present.
