Apple Planning Crypto

It is rumored again that Apple is planning something with crypto. YouTuber Crypto Rover lately tweeted that the iDevice giant may send cryptocurrency Bitcoin to the moon.

Simultaneously, Strike chief executive Jack Mallers too hinted that the Apple rumor may turn up true this time. He earlier shared an advert campaign from Apple captioned as think different. The black and white ad ran in late the 1990s and early 2000s. It featured historical figures like Thomas Edison, Muhammad Ali, Mahatma Gandhi and Albert Einstein.

Prior to the video post, Mallers tweeted about the Bitcoin 2022 conference that was held in the second week of April in Miami. He accompanied it with four pictures. One was an infographic equipped with a QR code payment system and another was a mission statement of Strike. The other two pictures were about a flipping bird near a Chase ATM and a promo for his speaking slot at Bitcoin 2022.

Meanwhile, Bloomberg writes the iPhone maker is working on a payment processor system that may not rely on a third party. This means it is planning to come up with several payment functions in-house such as fraud analysis, risk assessment, payment processing and credit checks. It is an effort to expand the functionalities of Apple Pay. Taking a look again at the tweets of Mallers, it means Apple may accommodate Bitcoin in the new payment platform.

However, it is not to forget that Apple chief Time Cook turned down rumors last year related to adding Bitcoin to its treasury asset. He stated that Apple stock is not a vehicle for such crypto exposure. He simultaneously mentioned that Apple has no plan to consider crypto for their products.
