SpaceX Elon Musks space exploration innovative tech firm have added cryptocurrency payments including Dogecoin.

Dogecoin is a unique digital currency. It began as a payment system developed by two men who desired an alternative to traditional banking that was both enjoyable and free. Billy Markus and Jackson Palmer, the two founders, wore a character from a 2013 Doge meme.

The cryptocurrency began to gain a following. As of May 5, the market capitalization was $85.3 billion. Meanwhile, Musk's recent statements have aided the spread of the meme currency and other cryptocurrencies. As a result, Dogecoin is currently the fourth-largest cryptocurrency in the world. Value has increased by 800 percent in the last month alone.

This year, Musk's tweets transformed the formerly unknown crypto asset of Dogecoin to skyrocket. Tesla is also accepting payment in the form of Dogecoin for its cars.

SpaceX was formed in 2002 with the goal of decreasing the cost of space travel so that Mars may be colonised.

Following Tesla's earlier acquisition of billions of bitcoin, SpaceX has invested its cash reserves in bitcoin.
