 Reddit Stock Is A Buy

Reddit Stock Is Down This Year. Is It A Buy?

Reddit isn't doing well, as the stock price is down on a YTD basis. There's a growing concern that Google's changing its algorithm have lowered traffic. And then there's Meta Platforms, which has made a copycat product called Forum.

However, analysts think that Reddit fundamentals show a very different story. So based on these fundamentals, Reddit stock price can stage a rebound.

Reddit's Active User Base Continues To Grow

It is clear that Reddit is now receiving less traffic from Google. But it appears that Reddit has gotten over it and is now less reliant on Google. The daily active users of Reddit are 126.8 million, which is a 17% y/y increase.

Reddit's CEO said the driving force behind the platform's success is highly engaged communities and authentic conversations. This ensures that human visitors stay engaged and continue to browse Reddit posts.

If we look at revenue, it is up by 69% y/y in Q1. The net profit margin in Q1 is also up by 31%. So, the actual data shows a very different picture as compared to the company's stock performance.

Besides Google, another risk factor for Reddit is the Forum from Meta Platforms. The Forum is a copycat from Meta which aims to replicate Reddit's platform.

But we have seen in the past that not all of the copycat attempts by Meta Platforms are successful. And even if Forum do gain traction, Reddit has a very loyal user base. So, most of them won't switch platforms.

Most of Reddit's earnings come from online ads on the platform. Analysts think that revenue from ads will continue to improve as long as the advertisers continue to get ROI on their ad spend. So far, the data shows that Reddit ads are indeed profitable for the advertisers.

Reddit has also gotten into AI licensing deals. This means the content on Reddit could be used for AI training. Once again, that's a highly profitable venture for Reddit and will improve the company's bottom line.

When we consider all of these things, it becomes clear that buying Reddit stock is a no-brainer. The fundamentals are very solid, and Reddit is on track to continue its revenue growth.
