Elon Musk has hit Twitter once again with his latest tweet in which he said the company has 2300 active employees. This tweet is not without context, though - Earlier, a news outlet had claimed that Elon Musk had significantly reduced the headcount at Twitter. As per the news outlet, only 1300 active employees were working for the company.
The news outlet also claimed that less than 550 engineers were working for the tech company Twitter. They said that around 75 people working at Twitter are on leave. But the most troubling news was it also included around 40 engineers as well.
However, it seems that the billionaire has come online to set the record straight and to present actual facts. According to Elon Musk, the report by the news outlet is misleading and wrong. He also made it clear that around 2300 people are working at Twitter, and the number is not 1300.
He also went on to clarify that hundreds of company employees are still working to ensure the trust and safety of the platform. On top of that, there are also thousands of contractors who are working in this department.
Ever since Elon Musk took over Twitter, he has been making a lot of changes, and reducing the headcount was one of them. Overall, Elon Musk has laid off roughly half of the Twitter workforce. In addition, he also rolled out the blue tick program, which ended up backfiring due to spam issues.
It seems there's a difference of 1000 employees from what the news outlet and the Twitter CEO are claiming. Considering Twitter is a private company, there's no reason for Elon Musk to share sensitive information like this! But it seems that Elon Musk is taking full advantage of the Twitter platform to set the record straight about Twitter.
Now, we wait for the news outlet to either correct its news story or come up with more arguments to support its statement.
