The hype around quantum computing is at an all-time high as many believe it's the new age of computing. One company that stands out in the quantum computing field is D-Wave Quantum.

Being a leader in quantum computing is a key reason why the company's stock is soaring. The D-Wave Quantum stock jumped 10x in just 12 months. So, this alone tells us that everyone is really bullish on quantum computing & D-Wave Quantum in particular.

D-Wave Quantum Has A Small Market Cap

Right now, the D-Wave Quantum stock is around 50% or more down from its ATH. But still, many believe that D-Wave Quantum stock has the potential to make its investors millionaires.

However, can D-Wave Quantum really make you a millionaire, or is it all just hype? For starters, the key reason why quantum computing is getting so much hype is that it will make it very easy to solve complex problems in a short span of time.

For example, a problem that will take years for a normal computer to solve can be done in minutes by a quantum computer. So when we look at it like that, it becomes clear why D-Wave Quantum stock is on everyone's radar.

Right now, D-Wave Quantum is one of the many companies that are working in the quantum computing space. However, it must be noted that these computers are very expensive, experimental, and can't be scaled.

Also, the D-Wave Quantum only managed to earn a revenue of $3.7 million in the last quarter. So, the company is only barely profitable, and it will stay like that until it makes a major breakthrough in quantum computing.

Another thing to point out is that D-Wave Quantum has a very small market cap. So right now, investing in D-Wave Quantum stock carries a higher risk as we don't know when quantum computing will be available commercially.

Last but not least, D-Wave Quantum is also only making a little bit of revenue! So if you don't want to expose yourself to too many risks, it is best to avoid D-Wave Quantum for now and look towards more established stocks.
