We found 11 online brokers that are appropriate for Trading Stock Indicator Investment Platforms.
In the stock market, people who look at the charts often need to rely on various technical tools called indicators. Depending on the type of indicator, it can be easy to understand the price movements. When it comes to stock trading, knowing whether the market is going up or down is the most important thing. If you get that right, half of the job is already done.
Among different types of indicators, trend indicators and range indicators are the most popular. Investors who use trend indicators usually try to earn money by entering in the same direction as that of the trend. As for the range indicators, these investors use such tools to buy at the bottom and sell at the top.
Of course, some people need nothing else but a simple candlestick chart to understand what is going on. However, there are others who need an indicator to tell them whether the current trend is bearish, bullish, or sideways. Just because someone has to rely on an indicator does not make one inexperienced.
When someone is first getting started in trading, the MA is the first tool he gets introduced to. There was only one tool called 'Simple Moving Average', but with time, a lot of new moving averages have become available in the market, like Hull Moving Average, Exponential Moving Average, etc..
To get started with SMA, one only needs to add a 20 SMA. With this simple line, a trader can easily identify the short-term trend. When the 20 SMA is added to an hourly chart, it tells the direction based on the 1-hour candlesticks. But when the same 20 SMA is added to the 1-day chart, it starts to show the trend based on the 1-day candlestick. If we really have to compare the 20 SMA on the daily chart with the hourly chart, then the 20 SMA on the daily chart will be better.
One of the easiest ways of performing multi-chart analysis is to add 20 SMA on the daily, 4-hour, and 1-hour chart. Now, look at the trend on all of these 3 timeframes. If the trend is positive on all 3 timeframes, it means the overall trend is bullish.
Similarly, if all the 3 timeframes show that the price is below the 20 SMA, it means a bearish trend.
If you see mixed signals on the 1-hour, 4-hour, and daily charts - It is better to not take any entry into the market.
The strategy mentioned above can also be used with Exponential Moving Average (EMA) instead of the SMA. In the case of the EMA, the rate of change will be much faster, and it will also react to any price change more efficiently.
Whether you should use the SMA or EMA all depends on your personal choice and preference.
Did you think that the RSI can only be used to track reversals? That is a common yet major misconception. If you take a look at the name, you will find words such as 'relative' and 'strength'. In reality, RSI can also be used to check the strength of an underlying trend.
An RSI(14) reading above 80 means overbought conditions as well as a strong bullish trend.
A lot of people mistake high RSI readings with a possible reversal. If you look at the historical charts, you will realize that there is an equal chance of a strong bullish trend and a bearish reversal when the RSI crosses above 80.
By combing SMA 20 and RSI(14), one can easily find trends in any stock. As soon as the price crosses above the SMA 20 on the daily chart, look at the RSI readings. If the RSI reading is also above 45-50 level, then it is a bullish sign.
Similarly, a candle closes below the 20 SMA on a daily, and an RSI reading below the 45-50 level shows a possible bearish move.
20 period Bollinger Bands is both a volatility and trend indicator. If the candle closes above the mid-band and then starts to hit and even close outside the upper bands consecutively, it means a bullish move is in play.
Similarly, if you see a lot of candles closing below the lower band, then it points towards selling pressure and a possible bearish trend.
If you think about it, Bollinger Bands also remove any need for the SMA. In fact, the middle band of the BB is 20 period SMA itself. As for the upper and lower bands, these are based on the user-defined standard deviation, which is usually '2'.
A user can change both the period as well as the SD (standard deviation) value according to the needs and market conditions.
When the standard deviation value is raised, you will notice that the candlesticks which close out the outer bands will reduce.
