We found 11 online brokers that are appropriate for Trading Short Term Trader Investment Platforms.
Trading operations that do not span a long period can be termed short-term trading. Traders who participate in short-term trading are usually referred to as short-term traders. The reason behind short-term trading is often the promise of quick profits. However, fast profits usually means higher risk.
It is a trade that is short-term in nature can last for anything from a few minutes to a few days. Anything more than that is no longer a short-term trade. If you look at the market behaviour, you will realize it can be hard to forecast the market's short-term outlook compared to the long-term view.
That is why any trader who wishes to partake in short-term trading must know about the potential rewards and the associated risks that come with this type of trading. If you only look at the rewards and not the risks, then trading becomes an exponentially riskier.
Before stepping foot into the short-term trading arena, there are few basics and essential strategies that you need to know in order to find success. In fact, having the proper knowledge of this fast-paced trading style can be the sole difference between profit and loss.
Normally, shorter timeframes are preferred for short-term trading. If you think about it, it does not make sense to use annual, monthly, or even weekly timeframe charts for trading in the short-term.
Short-term trading is all about making a lot of trades and then closing them within few minutes, or few days at the most. If you start using longer timeframes, you will not get many trading opportunities. Even if you do come across a trading opportunity, it will last longer than a few days at the minimum.
Using longer timeframe charts ultimitely defeats the whole purpose of short-term trading in the first place.
For best results, one can start with the minute charts, 1-hour charts, and the 4-hour chart. Even the 1-day timeframe chart becomes too long-term in most cases.
There are no short-term specific technical indicators for trading. The indicators which you would use for normal or long-term trading can be used in short-term trading too.
The difference arises in how you use these indicators. When you find the MA crossover on the daily charts for trend, you can transfer the same strategy to a shorter timeframe such as 1 minute, 5 minutes, 30 minutes, and so on.
For example, your stop-loss and take-profit will also have to reduce. On the daily chart, people tend to set longer SL limits and TP limits. You cannot keep using the same SL and TP limits on the short-term timeframe.
On shorter timeframes, you need to reduce your SL and TP limits to match the volatility. There are many indicators that can show the market's range based on the volatility, such as ATR (Average True Range) or the Bollinger Bands. Using these indicators to adjust the TP and SL based on volatility is a very important step in short-term trading.
If you are thinking of getting started in short-term trading, then get ready to be wrong a lot more often than in long-term trading. You might be able to understand how it can be more difficult to forecast the short-term movement of the market rather than long-term market movement.
The only thing you can manage is keeping your personal opinion and bias aside. If you are wrong on a trade, accept it and cut your losses. If you keep holding onto your losses for too long they will eventually pile up, and by that time it will no longer be short-term trading at all.
It pays to know about the market cycles and which cycle is currently dominating the market. For example, stock markets tend to gain a lot in the period between November to April.
On the other hand, the market seems to not make any moves in May, June, July, August, and September.
Of course, the cycles will be different for each stock market. Therefore, one needs to look at the cycles specific to your stock market to learn when it is more bullish and when it turns bearish.
Just because you start to trade the short-term does not mean you can ignore the long-term trends. In fact, you can align your short-term trades with the long-term trends to increase your chances of success and profit.
For example, if the weekly and daily timeframe charts show a bullish trend, then you will do better if you only take the long positions on the shorter timeframes. If the long-term trend is bearish and you start taking bullish positions on the shorter timeframe, then it will become a recipe of disaster.
