Unlike most of the indices which only contain country-specific stocks, FTSE All-World is more of an international index. This index tracks the performance of stocks from emerging & developed markets. As of right now, this index contains around 4040 stocks from all over the world. With around 4000 stocks, this index can represent around 90-95% market capitalization of the world.
FTSE All World ETF can be used to check the performance & health of all the world's financial markets. Investors can also invest in this ETF to earn dividends as well as capital gains. One major benefit of FTSE All World ETF is that it offers instant diversification. By just buying the ETF, one can gain exposure in all major financial markets.
The management fee of this ETF is only around 0.22% per annum. When compared to other managed funds, this is really low and affordable.
Since this index is global, any unrest in any part of the world can have an effect on the index. Another downside is low returns - The more diversified a product is, the lower the returns. As they say, with high risks come high rewards. With lower risk comes lower rewards!
FTSE All-World Ex-US ETF started trading inside the triangle during the years 2018 and 2019. At the start of 2020, we got a breakdown below the triangle which was a bearish signal. Based on the triangle measured target, a bearish target of $35-$34 was set.
The target of $35-$34 was achieved in March 2020. From there we saw a healthy recovery and since then, the price is still in a strong bullish trend.
Last year was also positive for the FTSE All-World Ex-US ETF. In the early months of 2020, the price was going down like there is no tomorrow. However, around March, things started to change and the ETF managed to end the year with 9-10% gains.
Since this Year, the ETF is already up by 6.30% and it is just April so far.
This is a unique model which takes into account recently generated news as well as hype about the index. Based on the possible effect of the hype on prices, the model makes an estimated prediction.
By using the hype-based module, we see an estimated price of around $62.95.
Now let's take a look at predictive analytical models to forecast the possible future price for this ETF.
By analyzing the current value as well as past, it got an intrinsic valuation around 62.40. Bollinger bands (volatility tool) show a projected price of 61.20. Our naive forecast tells us the price of 62.40 which is similar to intrinsic value.
In this analysis, we try to predict the possible price of FTSE All-World Price for the day once important news is released. Based on this prediction model, we see a range of 62.02 - 63.88 (lower & upper ranges).
Now that we have seen the different analysis models, let's combine the results and see what story they tell us.
Based on combined analysis, FTSE All-World is expected to give a 0.06% daily return. Next major news event is also coming 'very soon' according to the model.
Hype elasticity is around 0.6%. In case you don't know, hype means the news & hype generated for the index. Once hype event is over, the average after-hype volatility is around 404.35%.
Now let's take a look at the daily chart of FTSE All-World ETF and see where it is headed using price action & technical tools. During the years 2018, 2019, and 2020, the price was being pushed lower by a bearish trendline. On 10 Nov 2020, the price pierced the bearish trendline. Then we had a follow-through of that breakout and the price is still in an uptrend.
This shows that the ETF is in an uptrend with the potential to stay positive by the year-end.
By drawing Fibonacci retracement on FTSE All World index from Jan 2020 to Mar 2020, we can check the upcoming important levels.
Based on extended levels, the next important levels are 66.70, 74.09, 79.35, 82.10, 86.04, 93.48, 98.69, 101.44 and 105.39.
A successful break above one level with lead the price to the next level and so on. If you actually draw the Fibonacci retracement on daily charts, one can see that price is actually reacting to these extended levels.
On the downside, the next important levels are 54.75 (100%), 50.61 (78.6%), 47.36 (61.8%) and 45.08 (50% level).Predictive models which use advanced mathematical tools & analysis are not telling much of a story for this ETF.
After using the good old technical analysis (some trendlines & Fibonacci Retracement), we managed to see important levels on the upside as well as the downside.
Since the current trend is bullish, or forecast for this ETF is also bullish. Important levels are already mentioned above. We recommend to keep selling in portions as soon as each level is reached.
