Bitcoin Cash ABC (BCHA) originated from the split of the Bitcoin Cash (BCH) blockchain. On November 15th 2020 Bitcoin Cash (BCH) experienced a split that resulted in two separate chains, namely the Bitcoin Cash ABC (BCHA) and the Bitcoin Cash Node (BCHN). Both names were provisional, decided by exchanges. It is worth noting that whenever a chain split happens in the cryptocurrency world, one name usually hangs on the original cryptocurrency name and logo/sticker, whereas the other becomes a completely separate cryptocurrency that probably needs fresh branding. For this recent split, the Bitcoin Cash Node held to the Bitcoin blockchain while the Bitcoin Cash ABC is being branded as a totally different cryptocurrency with its own official name, sticker, and even logo.
The BCHA is currently reaching out to investors, exchanges, and businesses to make them aware of its existence. During the split of the Bitcoin Cash blockchain, there were concerns that the Bitcoin Cash Node could easily become the dominant software since the Bitcoin Cash ABC didn’t initially receive hash power. This assertion can be explained by the fact that hash power seemed to be in the favor of Bitcoin Cash Node as miners had already mined multiple conservative blocks on the block. Some groups of people have been trying to tempt cryptocurrency miners into paying more attention to Bitcoin ABC, so that its popularity can increase. To this effect, a group of Bitcoin Cash developers under the leadership of Amaury Sechet made a proposition which stipulated that up to 8% of all mined bitcoin should be redistributed to Bitcoin Cash ABC.
This proposal was actually made to the Bitcoin Cash network as a way of helping to finance protocol development. Unfortunately however, the proposal was opposed by the Bitcoin Cash Node community. The Bitcoin Cash Node rather proposed that the miner tax be removed from their source code. Besides, their proposal also stipulated that in circumstances when some nodes of the network adopt a hard fork while others fail to, the blockchain will have to split into separate versions, with one maintaining the old software, while the other will be forced to get a new software. Having said that, there are indications that Bitcoin Cash ABC may disappear if it fails to attract enough hash power, which would go a long way to producing a feasible blockchain. The truth is that most major crypto exchanges have already expressed their support to the Bitcoin Cash Node (BCHN) which will likely inherit the Bitcoin Cash Network.
However, since the start of this year, Bitcoin Cash ABC has been working relentlessly to have a viable blockchain. They have planned to hold a Global Network Council (GNC) meeting during which they are to discuss their future. With the changes that happened in November last year, it is evident that several changes and adjustments need to be made. Of course, due to all these adjustments, the whole blockchain has experienced a relatively slower pace of activities while these sustainable adjustments are being made. The good news is that some changes have already been made. First of all, Bitcoin Cash ABC (BCHA) has shifted away from supporting the Bitcoin Cash Network, rather focusing exclusively on its activities.
Secondly, BCHA has also rolled out a new infrastructure that is tailored towards supporting its new ecosystem, including two wallets, an explorer, application developers tools, GRPC servers, and a resource page. Moreover, Bitcoin ABC has continued to invest in developing new features such as Avalanche post-consensus.
The Bitcoin Cash ABC has also invested lots of money in marketing and communication, in a bid to boost more trust among investors and exchanges. The team has also continuously provided ongoing support to the users of the platform, including exchangers and miners. This particular task required a lot of effort, especially in the first few weeks of going operational as a separate crypto network.
Apparently, the team is also working hard and staying committed to ensuring that the entire project becomes sustainable in the long run. This explains why its also investing its resources in tackling its technical debts. The progress may be slow, but there are hopes that the team of BCHA will continue to build a technical foundation that will help them achieve all their short and long term goals. The Bitcoin Cash ABC (BCHA) team has no doubt that a strong brand is critical. They are therefore working relentlessly for things to happen sooner than most people anticipated.<
It may interest you to also know that Bitcoin Cash ABC (BCHA) currently has a unique feature known as Coinbase rule. The role of this feature is to finance the development of the network from the block reward. It may also interest you to know that all the people who owned Bitcoin Cash prior to its split currently own an equal amount of Bitcoin Cash ABC.
